Fun Heavy Reading: Jokes About Dictatorships

During the past several weeks, I have come across articles about serious treatments of funny during dictatorships. The first one is about jokes under communism, with the expert that is interviewed being a former colleague of mine at University of Pittsburgh. The second one is about jokes under Hitler. Both include LOL bits (gotta keep it cyber for the kids). I’m waiting for a book about Iraq.

Bands MIA In DC: Soulwax

Soulwax isn’t bothering to hit the West’s capital on their latest tour. Too bad for them. There is, however, a Soulwax event at Rock ‘n’ Roll Hotel tonight, though. These guys are the only ones who could ever rock the mashup, and they still do. Maybe they should stop, because they’re encouraging others to keep trying.
