CapitalBop, Inc. Granted 501(c)(3) Status

CapitalBop, Inc., an organization dedicated to informing people about, fostering, and pushing forward the Washington DC-area jazz scene, is now a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization! That’s great news for the group and the entire DC-area music community.

As a reminder, CapitalBop is organizing a number of shows for the DC Jazz Festival. Upcoming shows include:

  • June 7 – FREE! D.C. Jazz Loft Series Launch / Double Gallery Opening, feat. DJ Underdog, Union Arts, 9 p.m.
  • June 8 – Peter Brötzmann & Joe McPhee (with Anthony Pirog Quartet), Union Arts, 8:30 p.m.
  • June 9 – Gerald Cleaver’s Black Host (with Brian Settles & Central Union), The Fridge, 8:30 p.m.
  • June 15 – Blowout Show: Karriem Riggins Quartet & ERIMAJ (with Heidi Martin & Siné Qua Non), D.C. Jazz Loft Pop-Up Hall, 6 p.m.

The best way to get real information about all these shows is by visiting the CapitalBop Eventbrite page.

If you’re looking to get a little bonus when buying tickets in advance (or to just help out the organization), check out the CapitalBop Kickstarter page.
